Michael Deftereos

Operations Director, Webhelp SA

Michael Deftereos joined Webhelp South Africa in 2014 as Solutions Executive, responsible for architecturing complex local and international BPO services. He is now Operations Director for the company.

Michael has been in the contact centre outsourced industry for 20 years. He started his career with Dimension Data in 1998 within the IT call centre arena and later moved onto Merchants, a BPO services company (as part of the Dimension Data group) in 2000 to fulfil various roles including Project Manager, Solution Architect and Lead Consultant until 2003.

After a brief change of direction with strategic consulting company, Paladin Consulting, he re-joined Merchants in 2004 as Client Relationship & Services Manager and, in 2006, was appointed General Manager of Operations.

Michael has been instrumental in acquiring, designing, building, managing and growing in excess of 20 customer contact centre operations across his career.

Michael has extensive experience in the design, build and managing of large scale on-shore and off-shore contact centre operations, across multiple industry sectors.
