Webhelp South Africa, one of the country’s leading customer experience providers, hosted its first ever annual Star awards on Thursday 22 October, designed to recognise the wealth of talent across its South African teams.
The event, which was held in the Radisson Blu hotel, Waterfront, Cape Town was attended by guests from across Webhelp South Africa and also included visitors from its operations in the UK.
MC for the evening was well-known South African Actor and TV presenter Nico Panagio, with live entertainment coming from Webhelp’s very own band, a group made up solely from employees who work within the business and who performed a specially written ‘Webhelp values’ song.
A total of 15 awards were handed out on the night, with notable winners including Keabetswe Ronald Malose and Siyanda Blouw, who each received the Brightest Star award and a cheque for R 10,000 as reward for their contribution to the business.
The most poignant award of the night was the Mandisa Ambassador award, which was set up in the memory of Webhelp SA employee Mandisa Nzima who sadly passed away following a tragic car accident in July 2015. The award, which recognises those who fully embrace the Webhelp values, went to Thoko Kgobe who received a bursary for R 30,000 to be put towards personal development activity and further learning.

“That is exactly why we established this first ever Webhelp SA star awards, to thank the many skilled and talented Webhelp employees who’s levels of ability, enthusiasm and dedication to the exceptional work that they do never ceases to amaze me.”
In addition, there were 5 recipients of the CEO Special Recognition award, with Karl Fourie, Miriam Elliot, Mustapha Baker, Adam Walker and Shanaaz Natha all recognised for the outstanding levels of support they provided to successfully transition a major new client to the leading BPO providers Cape Town site.
