On June29th, mayor Aboutaleb officially opened the Rotterdam office of Webhelp. The originally French business process outsourcing company is located in the Delftse Poort, right next to Rotterdam’s Central Station.
Next step in Customer Experiences
A good chance when you contact a company or government institution, you will come into contact with a Webhelp employee. Webhelp is responsible for the design and handling of so-called Customer Experiences for many large and small brands. Every day, more than 3.500 employees in the Netherlands take care of all the questions, concerns and wishes of consumers that are handled by app, chat, e-mail and telephone. The international player employs no less than 40.000 people worldwide.
With the opening of this new, modern location, Webhelp Netherlands is now active in 9 locations: Groningen, Enschede (2), Ede, Zoetermeer, Tilburg, Hilversum and Paramaribo. Webhelp has chosen Rotterdam to continue its growth. Approximately 210 employees will start at the new location; the ambition is to double this number by 2019.
Acquisition for the Rotterdam labour market
One of the reasons for Webhelp to move to Rotterdam is the labour market. Recruiting a sufficient number of suitable personnel in the current labour market is a major challenge. Research has shown that the desired talent is sufficiently present in Rotterdam and would love to work more. “The diversity of the city and its people, the rapid growth and the dynamism that all of this brings have all attracted us. Rotterdam is an exciting city,” says Ronald van Schijndel, CEO Webhelp Netherlands.
Webhelp does everything it can to attract employees and especially to retain them. In the design of the new location, the employees were the main focus of attention. It must be an environment where people feel at home. Van Schijndel: “We are very happy with our new location in the Delftse Poort. We are in the middle of the center and the accessibility is very good. The building alone has so much more appeal than a standard office environment. It is of course a hectic job, which is why we think it is important that the working environment also provides relaxation and inspiration.”
In the search for a suitable location for a new office, Webhelp has been supported by Rotterdam Partners and InnovationQuarter. “We are very pleased with the choice of Webhelp for Rotterdam and are proud that the company sees the many advantages of this international city”, says Jeroen Kuyper, director of Rotterdam Partners. The parties often work together to attract businesses to the city and region. “Webhelp is an absolute asset for Rotterdam. It is a fast-growing company and the arrival of Webhelp is creating a lot of new jobs in the region”, says Chris van Voorden, head of Foreign Investments InnovationQuarter.
