Mayor Hubert Bruls of Nijmegen opens newest Webhelp location in the Netherlands

29th April 2019

On Friday 19 April 2019, Mayor Hubert Bruls of Nijmegen opened the newest location of Webhelp Netherlands. The  new site is located in the unique FiftyTwoDegrees building in the heart of the city’s knowledge innovation center.

Customer service to a higher level
Since 1985 Webhelp has been active in the Netherlands in organizing and handling customer contact. A lot goes by telephone, but digital channels such as app, chat, social media and e-mail are increasingly being used. Our 3.500 so-called “brand ambassadors” and customer service experts have since become the voice of many large organizations, well-known brands and government institutions in the Netherlands. Internationally, 50.000 employees work at Webhelp.

With the opening of this new location, Webhelp Netherland is now active at 11 locations; Rotterdam, Groningen, 2x Enschede, Ede, Zoetermeer, Tilburg, Hilversum, Heerlen and Paramaribo. Webhelp has chosen Nijmegen to continue its growth. Around 125 employees will start at the new location, the ambition is to double this number by 2020.

An asset for the Nijmegen labor market
One of the main reasons for Webhelp to move to Nijmegen is the labor market. Recruiting sufficient suitable staff to the current labor market is a challenge. Research shows that the desired talent is sufficiently available in Nijmegen. “The diversity, growth and dynamics of the city attracted us. Nijmegen is a bustling city where knowledge innovation is of high importance. After starting 8 months ago with a pop-up location, I am now very happy with the new location in Nijmegen. An impressive building with excellent facilities for our employees and clients; in a city that is increasingly showing itself to be ahead in higher education and knowledge intensive sectors’, said Ronald van Schijndel, CEO of Webhelp Nederland.

Webhelp makes every effort to find, fascinate and retain employees. When designing the new location, the employees were mainly taken into account. It must be an environment where people feel at home. Van Schijndel: “We are in the middle of an innovative environment. The FiftyTwoDegrees building alone has so much more charisma than a standard office environment. The work can sometimes be hectic and that is why we think it is important that the working environment provides relaxation and inspiration. ”
